Error Analysis from One Minute Show

09 Sep

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. – Albert Enstain

Semua orang pernah membuat kesalahan. So, let’s take the opportunities to learn more from the mistakes🙂.

Ketika semester kemarin terdapat ‘One Minute Show’ yang dipakai untuk Final Test, ketika mahasiswa diminta untuk menggambil undian berisikan 7 tema pokok dalam mata kuliah British Culture dan diminta untuk ‘bercerita’ anything on their mind about the topics, several did their best, several don’t. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi, mulai dari ‘tiba” blank’, ‘tidak sesuai dengan apa yang diinginkan’, ‘nervous’, and other reasons. Heii, welcome to the real world.. Many times we will face something that we don’t want to, but we should still give our best on it. Why don’t we start it now?

Tujuan dari Error Analysis ini tentunya, kita dapat mereview apa yang sudah kita lakukan, mulai dari Grammatical, Pronouncing, Dictation, the way we deliver the message, the mimic, the intonation, the content itself..

tambahan…

Asking something without giving clear explanation and example, will make people confuse. So I will give you an example. This is just an example, so you can explore more, feel free🙂

Ok. My name is … … (anonym)

And I would like eee to tells about the Government in UK.
It should be ‘tell’, because the subject is ‘I’.

And I choose eee more specific in Government in UK is Political Powers in UK.
It will be better if, “And I choose more specific about Political Powers in UK”.

And it most eee a little bit eee had a most effect for eee Government.
It will be better if, “I think it is interesting because it has a big effect for the Government”.

Because the Politic in UK.. in UK, had a most eee power.
There was a repetition, “in UK”

Beca eee, And he eee unites of a National Europe in the National.
It was unclear for the aims of the sentence.

And eee he handles about the human being in the world.
Who is ‘he’?, There was no explanation before.

Like an Lybia, Libiya’s problem in Khadafy.
There was repetation of ‘Libiya’.

Eee UK show the cares of the Libian people.
It should be, “UK shows the care of the Lybian”

Eee with the block eee all of eee Khadafy’s eee asset in UK.
It should be ‘assets’.

Ok. Thank you.

General comments:
• There were many ‘eee’ in several places, especially when the speaker wanted to tell a new term/information.
• The message was clear, even special, because the speaker told us about Political Power with the example.
• The speaker put the big smile while speaking which is good.
• The speaker already arrange the key points in good order, from the general – about the Government, then focus on the Political Power, and it was ended by giving the example.
• The speaker just needs to re-arrange the words to make them smoother.
• Good job, love the idea🙂

Saya tidak bosan mengingatkan, make your job special. Make it differently than other. Surprise me! Ordinary people will do an ordinary tasks – same like others, and it will not make people remind you. Do your best!😉
